The UNY Robot Team once again made achievements in the prestigious event held by Ristekdikti at the 2018 Regional 3 Indonesian Robot Contest. They brought in 4 teams, namely the Indonesian Robot Abu Contest (KRAI), the Indonesian Football Robot Contest (KRSBI-Wheeled), the Indonesian Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI) ) and Indonesian Dance Robot Contest (KRSTI). The majority of the members of the UNY Robot team are students from the Department of Electrical Engineering Education. The results obtained are 1st place for Wheeled KRSBI category, 2nd place for KRSTI, Best Design Award for KRSBI and KRAI and Best Artistic for KRSTI. With a total of 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 award medals, the Robot Team is the channel for the interests and talents of Electrical Engineering Education students from other universities.

The KRSBI team made a convincing move by winning 1st place and the best design with its Mobo Evo Robot. Starting from the group winner in the preliminary round, the next round was unbeaten until the final round which defeated their opponent with a convincing score of 6-0. The KRSTI team won two awards as the 2nd winner and the best artistic award with the Rosemary Robot who danced the Remo dance from East Java. The last award won by the KRAI team is the best design award with the Maestro Evo robot that uses a different design from other teams.

The achievements made did not make the UNY robot team become self-conscious, the results of the regional KRI 3 became an evaluation of the work that had been prepared for a long time. The results obtained in regional 3 led to these four teams or fields advancing to the national level which will be held at the Muhamadiyah University Yogyakarta. In order to face the 2018 National KRI around July 2018, the UNY robot team continues to hone and improve their abilities to get maximum results.
